Fuego 4-601 viewsDuring my work on my current project ELEMENTS, I photographed different elements like water, clouds, earth (sand on the beach, rocks, etc) and... fire (fireplaces on the street during some fiestas on Majorca, Spain). I use these images and also parts of to create new shapes and new "materia". My question is: these elementary particles, are they nanostructures or not? To achieve the perfect symmetry of my artworks, I use a process of multiples exposures on the same negative. The photomontages are exclusively created through traditional lab techniques in the darkroom. NO digital manipulation, no Photoshop. Each photograph is unique. In this case there is no perfect symmetry. My inspiration for these images is: The Nobel Prize in Physics 2008 (Yoichiro Nambu, Makoto Kobayashi, Toshihide Maskawa) and their theory about the broken symmetry or better the matter-antimatter asymmetry. The original photograph of my work is a little part of a flame, the smoke, the ash...
